Many Des Moines families have started their journey in Beaverdale, and many have loved it so much that they never left.  The lively residential neighborhood in the northwest side of the city has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since the 1990’s.  The area features numerous beautiful “Beaverdale brick” homes in the Tudor Revival and Colonial Revival styles.  The classic homes remain within the price range of many new and growing families, and are adjacent to a thriving local business district and the Drake University campus just beyond the southern edge of the neighborhood.  A typical family night in Beaverdale may include a romp through Ashby Park, followed by a delicious meal at Christoper’s… but remember to leave room for dessert at Snookies Malt Shop afterwards!
