The City of Grimes is a suburb on the far northwest side of the Des Moines metro.  At a population of under 16,000, Grimes has historically been one of the smaller suburbs in the metro. But, people are quickly learning that Grimes is a wonderful place to live and work, as it has literally doubled in size over the past decade.  The recent growth means that most Grimes neighborhoods are newer.  The Dallas Center-Grimes school district consistently ranks as one of the top within the state.  While most residents commute to employment elsewhere in the metro, those who live in Grimes are happy with the small town atmosphere, quality parks and recreation, and easy access to amenities in other nearby communities.
